OUR BELIEFS & VALUES

The three compass rose stars in the TriStar Leadership Group logo represent the profound impact that great leadership, a bias for action and sustained results, quantified by a balanced scorecard, will have in any organization.  Leadership, Action, and Sustained Results are the foundation of the TriStar Leadership Group. Our beliefs were developed over many years of studying and implementing empirically proven management philosophies and management systems including Deming's 14 Points and the 14 Principles of the Toyota Production System (TPS). As we learned and implemented these twenty eight powerful Points and Principles, nine began to truly stand out. The following Points and Principles became the foundation of our mission and beliefs: 

 

Leadership 

  • Deming Point #7: Institute leadership. The aim of supervision should be to help people and machines and gadgets to do a better job

  • TPS Principle #9: Grow leaders who thoroughly understand the work, live the philosophy, and teach it to others

  • TPS Principle #10: Develop exceptional people and teams who follow your company's philosophy

 

Action 

  • TPS Principle #2: Create a continuous process flow to bring problems to the surface

  • TPS Principle #6: Standardized tasks and processes are the foundation for continuous improvement and employee empowerment

  • TPS Principle #12: Go and see for yourself to thoroughly understand the situation

  • Deming Point #14: Put everybody in the company to work to accomplish the transformation. The transformation is everybody's job

 

Sustained Results 

  • Deming Point #1: Create constancy of purpose toward improvement of product and service, with the aim to become competitive and to stay in business, and to provide jobs

  • Deming Point #5: Improve constantly and forever the system of production and service, to improve quality and productivity and thus constantly decrease costs (although Safety was not in Deming's original point. TristarLG believes strongly that Safety must be continuously improved - therefore safety and quality are everyone's responsibility)

  • TPS Principle #14: Become a learning organization through relentless reflection (hansei) and continuous improvement (kaizen)
